      Take a moment to step back from the work that you are doing to think about how your current work is going. Keep the answers to the following question in mind as you read through theory. This will help you to think about how the theory could be relevant to your work.

    • Assessment 2: Research

      This module will introduce you to a small selection of theories. The purpose of this is to practice making a plan to integrate theory in your everyday work with young people. They are covered only briefly because they are meant to serve as a starting point for you to conduct your own research; to reflect on it and integrate it into the way you choose to practice. 

    • Assessment 3: Planning

      Having looked at some theory on paper, how will you apply it in real life?

     Through the lens of the principles of the Youth Development Strategy Aotearoa and the aligned nine Youth worker practice competencies we build the links between Theory and Practice of Youth Work and how this can be applied in our day to day work.
